Dancing can be a fun way to meet friends, stay active, and have a fun time, which is why a woman in Bethany organizes a line dancing class that anyone can join each week.
The Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages Porch met with Eileen Hetherington to learn more about the method of dance.
Hetherington said line dancing is easy to learn, which is an excellent motivator for getting started.
"There's lots of people that are wanting to get some social time, some exercise, and maybe they've never done any kind of dancing," Hetherington said. "This is a very friendly class. It's a great way to get them started."
By inviting dancers of all skill levels, Hetherington said she hoped everyone would be comfortable enough to come back again.
"The first time I tried any kind of dancing, I was scared to death," Hetherington said. I'd gotten in the back so nobody would see me, but I fell in love with it."
Hetherington said classes are only $10, and anyone from 18 to 75 can join in on the fun.
Beginner line dance classes are every Monday at 6:30 p.m., and intermediate classes are on Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. at the White House + Black Barn in Bethany.
