OKC for Soccer unveils top 5 names for new team

OKC for Soccer, the organization working to bring professional soccer back to the Oklahoma City metro, has unveiled the top choices for a new team name.

The organization says thousands of name ideas were submitted by fans, but the list has been narrowed down to only five.

Of the multiple entries submitted, here are the remaining choices:

1. OKC Bison FC
2. OKC Lightning FC
3. OKC Thunderbird FC
4. OKC United
5. OKC Wind FC

Organizers with OKC for Soccer say if you submitted a name that was not selected, you can still have your say on the final name selection by taking an open survey from now until March 24.

The new team is expected to begin play in 2027.
