The Logan County Emergency Management Office announced 50% of the 33 Road Fire has been contained as of Thursday morning.
Since the fire outbreak on Friday, March 14, the damage caused by the wildfires in the area has burned 33,410 acres of land according to officials.
Even with previously recorded windspeeds of 60 to 70 mph over the weekend, the continuing winds and dry conditions still fuel the fires that first responders are struggling to contain.
The Logan County Emergency Management Office also announced the Oklahoma Baptist Disaster Relief Team is on standby for wildfire victims, which assisted on the Simpson Road fire back in 2023.
