2 dead in multi-car crash on I-40 in Pottawatomie County

Two people are dead following a multi-car crash on Interstate 40, near Mile Marker 182, in Pottawatomie County according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

At least four cars were involved in the crash according to OHP.

OHP says others were airlifted to the hospital for injuries.

Eastbound and Westbound traffic was closed down.

Authorites say traffic is was diverted north on SH-18 to SH-66 west to US-177 then south to I-40.
