On March 14, firefighters in Hammon narrowly got their fire truck out of the way of spreading flames.

A door on the truck latched, keeping firefighters from getting inside the cab. In a split moment decision, video from News 9 Stormtrackers Val and Amy Castor shows a firefighter busting the window to get inside.

Dallas Wilson, owner of Wilson Auto Glass, watched the news coverage.

"I had seen that and thought, 'well, that's my way of being able to help,'" Wilson said. "That's what I'm good at. I can do windows."

Wilson connected with the fire department, and with the help of Petro Diesel in Weatherford, installed a new window in the converted military surplus vehicle.

"We knew they needed the truck, especially with how crazy the wind had been," he said. "It's a military vehicle, so it's not something that you can just find."
