OK Sen. Lankford reacts to passing of Bryan County Sheriff

Bryan County mourns the loss of Sheriff Johnny Christian, community figure since 2016. OK Senator James Lankford issues statement.

Early Friday morning, the Oklahoma Sheriffs' Association published the End of Watch for Sheriff Johnny Christian of the Bryan County Sheriff's Office.

This news followed the condolences from many in the county's jurisdiction, as well as many police departments expressing their grief from across the state.

Sheriff Christian was first elected in 2016, and served as an Oklahoma State Trooper before his tenure as Sheriff.

He was 58 years old, and the cause of death is unknown at this time.

OK Sen. Lankford shared his condolences on his official X account late Friday afternoon.
