A new sports-focused training facility is opening its doors in Edmond, bringing Division I-style athletic training to people of all ages and fitness levels.

D1 Training Edmond, located at 1289 E 15th St. #112, will hold its grand opening on April 26.

Unlike a traditional gym, D1 is built to replicate the atmosphere and intensity of a collegiate training facility, offering structured classes that combine athletic development with fun and motivation.

"Not Just a Gym"

“This isn’t your average gym,” Justin Brady, the owner of D1 Training, said. “We’re modeled after what you’d see at a D1 college program, and that’s how we train—regardless of your age or experience.”

With locations already in Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Kansas, the Edmond site marks a continued expansion into the region, and the team says they’re thrilled to be part of the OKC metro area.

Tailored Classes for Kids and Adults

Classes are designed for everyone from elementary schoolers to adults, with age-appropriate workouts that emphasize technique, confidence, and physical literacy. A typical class lasts 54 minutes and is led by coaches with high school or collegiate-level experience.

Each session includes an active warm-up, speed and agility work, strength and core training, and a recovery period. Young children may lift lighter weights or use bodyweight resistance, ensuring they learn proper form and build confidence without overexertion.

“We're very focused on making sure they learn the proper way to do these workouts,” said Brady. “And to make sure they have confidence when they go to the gym.”

More Than Physical Fitness

Inside the facility, motivational words like Endurance, Accountability, Responsibility, Discipline, and Determination line the walls. These aren’t just for decoration—they reflect the gym’s mission to develop both physical ability and mental toughness.

"You’re there with teammates and classmates working as a team to make it better," Brady said.
