A person is dead and another is in custody following a shooting in Enid on Thursday night, according to the Enid Police Department.
Police say they received multiple calls reporting shots being fired in the 900 block of East Maple.
Officers say that when they arrived on the scene, they found a 17-year-old Clayton Rowland dead in the backyard of a home. Officers and detectives searched the area and found multiple areas where shots were fired, and multiple crime scenes were established.
During the investigation, authorities say it was determined that 19-year-old Trevion Hartfield was the suspect in the killing of Rowland.
A warrant was issued for Hartfield's arrest, and he was taken into custody in Oklahoma City by members of the U.S. Marshal's Service. He was then transported to the Garfield County Detention Facility and booked on a murder charge.
"This investigation is ongoing, we are actively investigating other leads and trying to determine who else was involved," Lt. Bryan Hart said. "We are asking anyone having information related to this case to contact the Detectives Division."
