Jonathan Cooper anchors News On 6 at 4pm and 9pm.
Jonathan started at News On 6 in 2018 as the weekend evening anchor and moved to News On 6 at Noon in 2019. Now you can find Jonathan anchoring News On 6 at 4pm and News On 6 at 9pm on the Tulsa CW.
During his time at News On 6, he has been front and center reporting on major stories impacting Oklahomans. In 2019, he covered historic flooding and Vice President Mike Pence’s visit to Tulsa. The next year, he was inside the BOK Center as President Donald Trump restarted his presidential campaign. In 2021, Jonathan traveled to McAllen, Texas to report on Governor Kevin Stitt’s visit to the border. He has also won awards for his work on feature stories, including his trips to Black Mesa and Memphis, Tenn.
Jonathan started his television career as an anchor and reporter in St. Joseph, Mo., where he worked for two years at the ABC station. He then went on to Oklahoma City where he covered crime and the Oklahoma City Police Department.
Jonathan has family in Owasso and loves living in northeast Oklahoma. He is originally from Kansas City, Mo. and a graduate of the University of Kansas, where he double majored in both journalism and film.
Outside of work, he enjoys golfing, cheering on the Chiefs and Royals and spending time with family.
