More growth planned along the Oklahoma River, as a semi-permanent concert stage will open this summer.

Howard Pollack, who helped to start the Oklahoma City Zoo Amphitheater in 1978, told News 9 there are five or six acts that will play on the stage between July and October at the former Downtown Airpark.

Organizers say they are planning a permanent location closer to the boathouses. It's expected to be open in 2015.

According to Pollack, the venue, which is said to be a world-class stage run by Oklahomans, will be an urban space that offers cool shows to Oklahoma residents.

The stage is said to be the strongest in this region, and it will be able to hold bigger acts.
