Justin Adams Pleads Guilty In Deaths Of Pregnant Wife, Unborn Child

Justin Adams, the husband of a Blanchard pregnant woman who was found murdered in 2012, has pleaded guilty to two counts of manslaughter on Wednesday. 

According to Adams' attorney Irven Box, Adams pleaded guilty to two counts of manslaughter in the deaths of his pregnant wife, Jaymie Adams, and her unborn child. The judge handed down a ten-year suspended sentence, which includes six months jail time. But Adams was released after he got credit for time already served.

Jaymie Adams was last seen December 9, 2011. Her body was found on January 7, 2012 near a dirt bike trail at Lake Stanley Draper. Prosecutors suggest Adams played a role in her death by posting sexually explicit ads for his wife on Craigslist.

Justin Adams was previously charged with two counts of first degree murder in the case. In April, 2013, the murder charges were reduced to manslaughter.

"He doesn't want to take a chance again. He doesn't trust the system. He doesn't believe that he wants to take a chance of going back to jail for one day, when he can get a probation," said Box on Wednesday. "I told him I didn't think it was a good idea. But it's his choice. He made the choice to do what he did today."

Joseph Cyr, the man who authorities say contacted Jaymie Adams for sex, is now charged with two counts of first degree murder in the deaths of Jaymie and her unborn child. His preliminary hearing is set to take place on March 5.

Investigators say Cyr contacted Jaymie in response to a Craigslist ad for sex, then moved out of Oklahoma City shortly after the killing in December 2011. Court documents reveal DNA samples taken from Cyr matched the DNA found inside Jaymie's body. Investigators believe the two had sex.
