Police are investigating the death of a man who was shot Monday night in Tulsa. The murder took place at the Plaza Hills East Apartment complex near 15th Street and 129th East Avenue.
First responders were called to the complex around 9 p.m. and found the victim outside in the common area. He has been identified as 26-year-old Courtney Darnell Parks.
Police say witnesses saw the victim's vehicle leaving the scene following the shooting. It was found about a mile away, Homicide Sergeant Dave Walker said Tuesday morning.
Walker said investigators haven't found a specific motive or suspects yet. They are looking for evidence in Parks' 2007 four-door Chevrolet Impala.
Court records show that Parks was arrested during a traffic stop for possession of marijuana and Xanax in November, 2014. According to his Facebook profile, he went to Broken Arrow High School and is the father of a young girl.
