My 2 Cents: Thief Caught On Camera Breaking Into Trucks

I've had a mind-blowing day. My neighbor's truck was broken into early Wednesday morning. And the few tools the thief stole, were worth far less than the window they broke to steal them. 

I checked my driveway, no glass by my truck. 

But Thursday, after I started noticing a few things missing that I thought were in my truck, I pulled up video from my driveway camera.

Early Wednesday morning, while the rain was falling, someone walks up, checks one car. It's locked.

But my truck, which is always locked, wasn't that night. I must have mis-punched my key fob.

Although they checked the back door, and it seemed to be locked.

Once they're in it, it only takes them 20 seconds to find my backup phone case I'd forgotten was in there with a couple of cards in it. They took some medicine, and even my temporary handicap placard.

I discovered this around 1 p.m. Thursday. I immediately had the bank shut down my card, which they'd used a couple of times already, and I got a new driver’s license.

Around 4:00 p.m. Thursday, Chief Cary Norman from Newcastle called and asked if I had been the victim of a recent burglary. Mind you, I've only been aware of it for three hours, but he found some of my property in a car that was involved in a fender bender.

What are the odds?
