I'm glad to see the initial wave of panic over the coronavirus is beginning to settle down.
It seems to me it took hold much earlier than fear of the Swine Flu, possibly because of increased media coverage and skepticism about the truthfulness of the Chinese government.
So far there are reports of just over 100 cases of the coronavirus in the U.S. and 11 people have died from it.
That makes it appear the death rate is over 10% here, but that's a very distorted picture.
Scientist say an unknown number of American's have had coronavirus and didn't show any symptoms or had a mild case of it and were never tested.
So now that testing kits have been sent to all the states, we'll get a more accurate picture of how many Americans really have or have had the coronavirus and the mortality rate, I believe, will drop dramatically, maybe even under 1 percent like the flu.
By the way, the flu has killed 18,000 Americans this season.
The vice president and the coronavirus "A" team gave an update, and each reiterated the risk of getting coronavirus in the United States is low.
The numbers will grow with states now able to test for it and report it, and it will spread, but it's not time to panic.
I'm Kelly Ogle and that's My 2 Cents.
