The victim, 61-year-old David Edison died at the scene, authorities said. 

According to the report, Edison's vehicle left the roadway for an unknown reason and struck a culvert. The car traveled approximately 300 feet before coming to rest on I-35 southbound. 

 The cause of the accident is under investigation.
