Bethany Woman Killed, Norman Man Injured In Carter County Crash

A Bethany woman was killed and a Norman man injured in a collision Wednesday morning in Carter County, troopers said. Angela Leigh Garner, 47, of Bethany, died when the 2016 Nissan she was riding in hydroplaned along northbound Interstate 35 near mile-marker 40 in Springer just before 11 a.m. Wednesday. A Bethany woman was killed and a Norman man injured in a collision Wednesday morning in Carter County, troopers said.

Angela Leigh Garner, 47, of Bethany, died when the 2016 Nissan she was riding in hydroplaned along northbound Interstate 35 near mile-marker 40 in Springer just before 11 a.m. Wednesday. Troopers said the vehicle struck the center median cable barrier, came back onto the roadway and was struck by a 2005 Peterbilt, driven by Robert Stegall, 60, of Powderly, Texas.

Stegall was not injured in the crash.

Christopher James Leland, 45, of Norman, was admitted to a nearby hospital in fair condition and later transferred to OU Medical Center. Leland was driving the 2016 Nissan, troopers said.
