Oklahoma City Animal Welfare officers are looking for the person who shot a Canada Goose using a bow and arrow.
Somebody found the goose Monday morning not far from the Oklahoma River on the 1400 block of South Portland.

The arrow was lodged in the goose’s chest, but it was still alive.
A veterinarian at WildCare in Noble performed surgery on the goose, and said the female goose should eventually recover, before being released back into the wild.
Animal Welfare Director Julie Bank said there have been other reports someone has been illegally hunting animals in the area with a bow and arrow.
“I know we have gotten recent calls,” she said.
WildCare Director Rondi Large said the injured Canada Goose Monday wasn’t going to live much longer without help.
“She was in a very bad way. In another day or two, she probably wouldn’t be alive,” Large said.
