Multiple fire departments have contained a large fire at an old school building in Guthrie, Friday morning.
The fire at the old Banner Elementary School was first reported just before 4 a.m. by neighbors in the area of W. Warner Avenue and N. 11th Street. That's just west of downtown Guthrie.
Firefighters say their big concern was embers flying from the fire to nearby homes.
Guthrie, Oak Creek, Edmond, Crescent and Woodcrest Fire Departments all responded to the scene to battle this blaze. No injuries have been reported, but ambulances are on standby.
Crews were able to contain the fire. Firefighters will remain on the scene to put out hot spots.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
