Fire Crews Battle House Fire In Edmond

Fire crews have taken a defensive position in battling a house fire in Edmond, Sunday evening.

Firefighters were called to the scene, located in the 700 block of 8^th St. in Edmond.

According to scanner reports, firefighters reported hearing small explosions inside. That forced crews to abort their offensive position and assume a defensive role to ensure their safety.

The family was at home at the time the fire started, but everyone was able to get out safely. The home is considered a total loss.

It is unclear how the fire started at this time.
