Police are on the hunt for a killer as detectives dig into the mystery behind an elderly woman's death.

Oklahoma City police officers on the scene Saturday found no apparent cause of death for Gynette Tucker, according to a police department press release. Police say the Medical Examiner's Office told investigators that the death is being considered a homicide.

On a quiet Oklahoma City street near N.W. 16th Street and Portland Avenue, neighbors are left with many questions.

"What I'd like to know is, did someone break into her house," asked neighbor Connie Pentecost.

Police found the 74-year-old woman's body inside her home in the 4000th block of N.W. 14th Street around 9 a.m. Saturday.

"She was a nice lady," neighbor Michael Stephanic told News 9. "She didn't bother anybody."

The Medical Examiner's Office says Tucker had trauma on her body, but authorities would not give further details. Police will not say how they believe Tucker's killer got into her house. Neighbors tell News 9 they did not see any signs of a break-in.

"If she was murdered, I am just overwhelmed by it," Pentecost said. "It just totally freaks me out."

Neighbors say family members have been in and out of the house since Saturday. None of the relatives were available to talk to News 9 Wednesday.

"We have a neighborhood watch program I'm not that familiar with, but we don't have a lot of crime in this neighborhood," said Stephanic.

Those who knew Tucker say she could always be seen outside with her two small dogs. If you have any information that may help investigators, call the homicide tip line at 297-1200.
