Canadian County Sheriff's deputies arrested an El Reno man, who is accused of molesting an underage girl he had interacted with on Facebook.
According to the Sheriff's Office, 19-year-old Billy Stamper was charged with second-degree rape on Wednesday.
The victim's parents said they feared their underage daughter had been sneaking out of the house at night to meet with an adult man. Investigators then met with the suspect, Stamper, who admitted to meeting with the girl and taking her to a field where he molested her.
Stamper said he would have stopped at any time, if the girl would have just told him to, according to the Sheriff's Office.
"The parents of this young girl took the right actions in contacting my office, and this is just another example of how important it is for parents to monitor the computer activity of the children," said Randall Edwards, Canadian County Sheriff.
Stamper was booked into the Canadian County Jail. His bond was set at $10,000. Stamper was able to make bond on Wednesday, and was released.
