Former Francis Tuttle Instructor Charged With Rape

A former Francis Tuttle Technology Center instructor has been charged with rape after he allegedly had a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old student.

News 9's Lisa Monahan first reported in April the investigation into Fred Savage. The teenage girl told police her relationship with Savage began back in February after she texted him about a homework assignment.

After the allegations surfaced, Francis Tuttle suspended Savage. He submitted his resignation two days later.

Savage was a law enforcement officer before he began teaching.
