Jose Cisnero was a one-man show Thursday night for Oklahoma City, pitching six strong innings and even driving in two runs in OKC's 2-1 victory over the Iowa Cubs.
Cisnero allowed just one run on three hits and struck out five, and in the second inning hit a two-out double that scored Mike Hessman and J.D. Martinez to give the RedHawks the only runs they would need.
Ryan Rowland-Smith pitched five innings for Iowa, allowing two runs on three hits.
The RedHawks have responded well since the 10-game losing streak, winning six of the past nine games. They stand 5 ½ games back of Albuquerque with 11 games remaining. A four-game home series with Albuquerque beginning next Monday will give OKC one last chance to catch the Isotopes.
The RedHawks look to continue their recent surge Friday evening in Iowa.
