A night after scoring just two runs, the Omaha Storm Chasers offense exploded, scoring 11 runs on 15 hits, in an 11-1 rout of the Oklahoma City RedHawks Sunday night.
The Storm Chasers had every batter reach base at least once throughout the evening, and took advantage with runners in scoring position, collecting seven hits.
The RedHawks, on the other hand, had nine hits, but were able to muster just the single run, stranding 13 runners on base and going just 1-for-7 with runners in scoring position.
OKC starter Brian Bass lasted just four innings, after he was shellacked for nine runs on 11 hits in taking the loss for the RedHawks. The Storm Chasers struck first in the third inning, scoring four runs, and the rout was on.
Omaha followed the third inning barrage with two runs in the fourth and five more in the fifth.
The RedHawks didn't help their case with their defense either, committing three errors that led to several Omaha runs.
Jake Odorizzi got the win for Omaha, improving to 8-1 this season.
The two teams are back in action tomorrow night at The Brick. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m.
