The city of Oklahoma City is hosting a special collection day for people wanting to get rid of ammunition, computer, tires and prescription drugs.

The collection will be held on Saturday, April 28 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the State Fairgrounds.

The drop off site will be on the south side of the fairgrounds, east of the arena. Just enter the fairgrounds from North May Avenue onto Gordon Cooper Boulevard, Gate 5.

"Residents just have to drive to the fairgrounds and our crews will do all the heavy lifting," said Environmental Protection Manager Raymond Melton. "We've made the drop off process as convenient as possible so people will continue participating."

The collection is open to Oklahoma City residents only. Recyclers must bring their current Oklahoma City water bill stub to prove residency.

Syringes, liquids, inhalers, tire rims and wheels will not be accepted. The next special collection will be this fall.
