Police arrested 17 people during a citywide drug raid early Wednesday morning in Enid.
Over 40 officers from the Enid Police Department's Narcotics Enforcement Unit served arrest and search warrants throughout the City of Enid. In addition to the arrests, 34 criminal charges were filed and a number of drugs and drug paraphernalia were seized.
Sixteen of the 17 people arrested were taken into custody on felony warrants for drug-related crimes, according to Enid Police Capt. Dean Grassino.
"We're still attempting to locate a few more," said Grassino. "The goal of this mission was to secure 23 felony arrest warrants and serve two search warrants."
The operation was a result of an ongoing investigation into the distribution of illegal narcotics in the Enid area being conducted by the narcotics unit.
The agencies that assisted during the operation, included: Officers from all divisions of the Enid Police Department, the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics, Oklahoma Highway Patrol and the Department of Human Services Office of Inspector General.
