EDMOND, Oklahoma – The City of Edmond has decided to expand its curbside recycling program to include the recycling of all types of plastics.

Officials say plastics stamped 1-7 are now accepted. Previously, only plastics stamped with a 1 or 2 had been accepted. With the added plastics, residents will be able to recycle most of their non-toxic waste products. Yogurt and cottage cheese containers are a few examples of plastics now being accepted.

According to city officials, other items collected through the curbside program include aluminum, newspapers, steel and tin cans. Cardboard is not collected curbside but may be dropped off at the City's recycling center.

The Edmond Recycling Center is located off Air Depot just north of Covell at 5300 Recycle Trail.

A full list of acceptable plastics can be found at edmondok.com.
