BLACKWELL, Oklahoma -- The intense heat is blamed for the death of a man in Blackwell.
The Blackwell Police Department received a call Monday around 5:15 p.m. of a man unconscious in Legion Park. When an ambulance crew arrived, they found 69-year-old Marcelino Calderon-Mora. He was breathing, but unresponsive.
Medics rushed Calderon-Mora to Blackwell Regional Hospital where doctors treated him for heat stroke. He died a few hours later. Neighbors say he was well known around town because he would often do odd jobs for people in the community.
