MEMPHIS, Tennessee -- The Oklahoma City RedHawks continued to struggle Sunday, as the Memphis Redbirds topped them 2-1, completing the four-game, series sweep.
The Redbirds (45-38) bats took care of the offense early, with solo shots from Mick Stavinoha in the first and from Aaron Luna in the second to take a 2-0 advantage after the first two innings.
Oklahoma City's (34-50) only run of the contest came in the top of the seventh, thanks to a two-out single from J.B. Shuck to bring Brandon Barnes home from second.
Brian Broderick (2-1) came away with a win for the outing, giving up just four hits and striking out two in his 5.1 innings of service. Wesley Wright (2-1) was credited with his first loss of the season, giving up three hits and two earned runs – both home runs – in four innings pitched.
The RedHawks will now return to Bricktown Ballpark for a seven-game home stand, starting at 7:05 p.m. Monday against the Iowa Cubs.
