OKLAHOMA CITY -- The Oklahoma City RedHawks snapped a four-game losing streak Monday with a 2-1 win over the New Orleans Zephyrs, thanks to a strong outing from starter Andy Van Hekken.
Van Hekken (2-3) pitched a seven-inning outing for the RedHawks (30-42), giving up just one earned run on six hits, while striking out six. Elih Villanueva (4-6) was credited with a loss for New Orleans (36-36), allowing two earned runs on three hits in his six innings of service.
The Zephyrs scored their only run of the game early, a one-out, RBI single from Vinny Rottino to center field to bring Matt Dominguez home from second to take a 1-0 lead.
Oklahoma City drew to a tie in the bottom of the fourth inning, with one out on the board and runners on second and third. Collin DeLome hit into a sacrifice double play to bring Anderson Hernandez home from third.
After a rain delay, Brandon Barnes drew a leadoff walk and Koby Clemens followed with a line drive double to left field to bring him home and score what would be the winning run.
The RedHawks will now start a 12-game road trip, starting with four-game series against the Albuquerque Isotopes.
