OKLAHOMA CITY -- Most flights are back on schedule at Will Rogers World Airport after Tuesday's severe winter storm shut down the airport for a day.

Airport spokesperson Karen Carney said most morning flights left Oklahoma City on time, and the majority of flights for the rest of the day are expected to stay on schedule.

Carney said there will likely be delays because the snowstorm that hit Oklahoma so hard is now affecting states in the Midwest and northeast. Most flights to Chicago O'Hare have been canceled for the day. Continental Airlines has also canceled all flights from Oklahoma City for the rest of the day and three tomorrow morning because of a storm in southeast Texas. Other airports are also experiencing delays and cancellations that will impact local travelers.

Carney said it will take several days for the flights to completely return to normal. Travelers should check with the airline about that the status of their flight before leaving for the airport.
