The tornado tore through the area southeast of downtown, heavily damaging one building. It also damaged warehouses near Dallas Love Field. At least one person was injured and taken to a hospital.
The twister near downtown Dallas was just one of several spotted in north Texas Wednesday night. There were numerous reports of damaged buildings and debris-related injuries.
The remnants of Tropical Storm Hermine also brought torrential downpours to the area. Several people had to be rescued from flooded neighborhoods. At least two people died in the flash flooding.
The storms also roared across southern Oklahoma. In Bryan County, folks in Colbert are cleaning up after the severe weather damaged at least one home a few outbuildings.
Power is out to much of the area. So far, there's no word on whether strong winds or a small tornado caused the damage.
