Butcher arrested for stabbing death

Robert Butcher was arrested for allegedly stabbing someone to death Sunday morning.

Officers said they found a man stabbed outside the Porthole Club at 3630 NW 39 St. early Sunday morning. The stabbed man was transported to a local area hospital where he died of his injuries about four hours later, police said.

Preliminary police information read that Butcher and the deceased got into a verbal fight inside the club. The dispute continued outside, where police said Butcher is believed to have stabbed the other man and then fled the scene on foot.

Officers located 41-year-old Butcher near NW 38 St. and Tacoma minutes later, police said. Butcher was arrested and booked into the Oklahoma County Jail under suspicion of murder one.
