OKLAHOMA CITY -- The Logan County Sheriff's Office and Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation have teamed up to search for a man wanted for questioning in an attempted murder case.
Investigators wanted to talk to 30-year-old Zachary Todd Cook. They believed he knew something about the shooting of 31-year-old Ryan Miller. Miller was found Tuesday night in rural Logan County. He'd been shot five times.
Miller was rushed to an Oklahoma City hospital. His current condition is unknown.
"Last night OSBI agents and others at the scene did extensive interviews of witnesses and we have his name come up several times. That's why we are looking for Mr. Cook right now," said OSBI Spokesperson Jessica Brown.
There was a warrant out for Cook's arrest in connection with threats against his estranged wife. Deputies said Cook threatened to shoot the woman and everyone in the Guthrie bar she worked at because she refused to talk to him on the phone. Bar employees said Cook busted out a window on his wife's car the same night. They said he was angry about the divorce and has told his wife he will kill himself before he agrees to a divorce. She filed a protective order against him in June.
Deputies described Cook as a white male, 5'9", with red hair that is starting to go bald. He was last seen driving a white or tan 1981 Chevy pickup truck with an Oklahoma tag of 244-HGY.
