Broken Arrow police have released the arrest report for 18-year-old Robert Bever, who is accused of stabbing and killing five family members and wounding another.
Most of the information included in the document already has been reported by News On 6, but the arrest and booking report made public by police on Friday says the 13-year-old survivor was able to identify her brothers as the attackers.
Investigators said a 12-year-old male called 911 at 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday and said they needed help because their brother was attacking the family. When officers arrived to the 700 block of Magnolia Court, they found blood on the porch and could hear a faint female voice inside asking for help.
When they made their way inside to the gruesome scene, they found the girl, who had been stabbed multiple times, the document says. The 12-year-old who called 911 was dead, they said.
"The young girl was still alive and made statements to the officers that her brothers [were] responsible for attacking her and her family," the arrest report says.
As reported earlier, police and a K9 officer were able to track down Bever and his 16-year-old brother in a wooded area behind the home, and the new report reveals they found fresh footprints in the back yard. The two were arrested and placed in the Broken Arrow city jail then transferred to the Tulsa County Jail on Friday.
Bever was booked on five first-degree murder complaints and one count of aggravated domestic assault and battery with a deadly weapon. In his mugshot, Bever appears to have blood splatters and mud on his face, and BAPD Cpl. Leon Calhoun said that many of the officers who have been involved in the investigation are disturbed by his demeanor.
"He has a smirk on his face …I don't know if there's any remorse whatsoever based on that picture," Calhoun said of Robert Bever's first mugshot. A second mugshot was taken once he was transferred to Tulsa County.
At this time, the youngest brother's name has not been made public in any news releases sent out by Broken Arrow police. A Tulsa County jailer, however, identified him to News On 6 as Michael Bever. We were able to obtain his Tulsa County mugshot at 5 p.m. on Friday.
Bever’s mother and father, David and April Bever, and three siblings -- two boys ages 12 and 7 and a 5-year-old girl were those who were killed.
The 13-year-old girl survived surgery and is said to be stable at a local hospital. A 2-year-old sister was left unharmed and found upstairs in the home when officers arrived, the arrest report says. She was taken in by DHS immediately, then placed in the care of relatives.
Police said on Thursday that multiple knives and a hatchet were found in the home and are believed to be the murder weapons.
