Tulsa Plants Oaks, Maples To Celebrate Arbor Day

Tulsa marked the local celebration of Arbor Day by planting trees near downtown. "Up with Trees" planted 15 oaks and maples today, in Maple Park.

The city is looking at the number of trees in Tulsa, and evaluating shade coverage to help find areas that need more trees.

Dave Zucconi, Tulsa Urban Forester "And this is actually a sidewalk so it will help," said Tulsa urban forester Dave Zucconi.

"We've got a few trees along here, and we've added a few and hopefully in the years to come, as we continue planting, that we'll add more to this park, too."

Tulsa still hasn't recovered from the trees lost in the 2007 ice storm.
