This May marks the 20th anniversary of the largest, most destructive tornado outbreak in Oklahoma history.
“It's throwing lots of debris,” says storm tracker Val Castor. “It's very intense at the surface, it's very intense."
40 people died on May 3rd, 1999 when severe weather spawned 72 tornadoes, that destroyed more than 3300 homes and apartments. Dozens of people who were on the road that day huddled under an overpass as the eye of a F-5 twister passed overhead.
"She had every reason to live. She had 2 beautiful kids a husband that loved her. It was sad. I felt guilty," says storm survivor Stuart Ernest Junior. "I still don't understand why God let me stay, I still don't understand why God answered my prayers."
Among all the heartbreak and devastation on May 3rd, a this tiny miracle was discovered. A Grady County deputy found a 10-month-old baby face down in the mud, about 100 feet from her leveled home.
Little Aleah was ripped from her mother's arms by mother nature's monster, but miraculously she only had minor cuts and bruises.
