Family Evacuated Due To Edmond House Fire

A home caught fire Wednesday morning in Edmond, according to firefighters.

The Edmond Fire Department said the fire began shortly after 2 a.m. near South Coltrane Road and East 15th Street.

Crews said heavy flames were coming from a second-floor window of the home when they arrived.

A family living inside the home said the fire awoke them but were able to evacuate safely with no injuries.

Crews say the fire was contained in a single room and put out quickly.

The cause is under investigation.
