Broken Arrow Police said a school bus driver told them the sun was in his eyes when he hit a construction barrel, truck and excavator Monday morning. No students were on board.

Broken Arrow School Bus Driver Wrecks In Construction Zone

A Broken Arrow School bus was involved in a crash near 101st Street and 193rd East Avenue. Police said the driver was eastbound on 101st at County Line Road when he crashed in a construction zone.

The driver told officers the sun was in his eyes when he struck a barrel and then a construction truck, according to Broken Arrow Police.

There were no students on the bus at the time of the wreck.

Both vehicles sustained significant damage. The investigating officer said the bus also hit an excavator.

The bus driver complained of some leg pain but did not appear to be seriously injured, police said.
