Here's an opportunity to learn more about the people who bring you the news every day on News On 6. Sawyer Buccy is on the scene, on the story every weekday. She is a former News On 6 intern and her last name is pronounced "bussee."
1. What was your first job in television news?
This is actually my first job In television news! I am an MMJ reporter right now, which stands for Multimedia Journalist. Long story short, I usually shoot and edit my own stories. Thankfully, we have the opportunity to work with News On 6 photojournalists every now and then, and I try to have them look over my work as much as possible. There is a lot I can learn from them, we have some of the best photographers in the game at our station.
2. You have 15 minutes of free time, what do you do?
If I have 15 minutes of free time I am usually snuggled up on the couch with my puppy Olivia (she’s a Boston Terrier, usually wearing a tutu), watching TV or reading a book. Add some chips and guacamole to the mix and I’m in heaven.
3. What’s in the console of your car?
A mini bottle of lotion from Bath and Body Works, some hand sanitizer, a lens cleaner for my phone, a pack of gum and some perfume.
4. What’s your hidden talent?
My hidden talent? Hmm. In college, I was a beauty consultant at ULTA (one of my three jobs lol) and when we didn’t have any customers I was responsible for cleaning out the perfume section. Consequently, I can now recognize almost any perfume someone is wearing.
5. What was your high school mascot?
We were the McKinney Boyd Broncos. Our colors were red, white and navy and I was obnoxiously school spirited.
6. How would you describe Tulsa to someone who’s never been here?
I’ve only been here since January so I’m still getting acquainted, but so far I love how quickly the city is growing into something new and fresh. The shops, bars and restaurants have a lot of character and the people have been really kind and sincere, which is nice to experience when you move to a new place.
