Going from All-Big 12 to not being drafted and learning the ropes in the pros is the situation Tulsa's Dominique Alexander faces.
The former Sooner says he doesn't see the NFL as a burden but as an opportunity.
"It's just like being a freshman all over again,” he stated. “Every day you have to go out there and prove yourself. So when I go back, I'm just looking to go out there and play fast and have fun, know my playbook and just get back to playing how I play."
For Alexander, the opportunity to get on the 53-man roster will not be easy. He has a lot of competition for the inside linebacker spot, but he's going into camp confident.
"I'm feeling pretty good going back to Cleveland,” he said. “We have six inside linebackers on the team right now and I feel as though as long as I keep getting my opportunities and getting a chance to show what I can do then I’m going to make the most of my opportunity."
With two weeks left to train, what's the one key to seeing Alexander go from undrafted to playing at the pro level?
"Special teams is going to be very important,” he emphasized. “I have to know what I'm doing in special teams and capitalize on every opportunity that I have and also just know the playbook."
The Browns camp starts July 29th.
