The Tulsa County Sheriff's Office is going high tech.

The office was awarded a $121,000 Safe Oklahoma Grant to utilize new software called Crime Map Pro.

Seven deputies will work overtime two shifts a week to use the software to track and crack down on violent crimes in Tulsa County.

“It's going to map out high crime areas. And thinking outside the box, which is what we like to do around here, we are also going to look into implementing it into the jail and see if it can do anything, in terms of providing statistical information within David L. Moss," said Sheriff Vic Regalado.

The sheriff's office has also applied for two other federal grants worth up to $350,000.
