Tulsa police tell us they've arrested a murder suspect wanted out of Denver.

According to a news release from the Denver Police Department, officers arrested 32-year-old Chad Evans in connection with a triple homicide that happened June 3 in the 3600 block of Hudson Street in Denver.

Evans was one of the men wanted for shooting four people in a possible drug deal. Three of the victims died.

Denver police had warned Tulsa police that the suspects had ties to the area. At one time, the 32-year-old Evans played football for the University of Tulsa.

Sergeant Dave Walker with TPD said Tuesday, Evans reached out to them, saying he would turn himself in on Wednesday. Tulsa police said that would be OK but told Evans crews would still be searching for him.

Officers said they spotted a vehicle being driven by Evans' family on Highway 75 Tuesday afternoon. Police said they followed it to about 76th Street North where it pulled over and Evans got out.

The vehicle drove away. Police said they did not chase.

Evans was arrested without incident and is being held for investigation of felony murder, attempted murder and robbery.
