Tulsa firefighters responded to an apartment fire around 9:40 Tuesday morning. It happened at the Village East Apartment Complex, 23rd and Garnett

A bottom floor apartment caught fire, and the flames spread above it. Firefighters kept it contained to two apartments, but several others had smoke damage.

"When the first fire companies got off the expressway they could see heavy smoke and the flames showing already. The flames had already spread around the side and gotten up in the attic already," said Captain Stan May, Tulsa Fire Department.

One man was treated at the scene. No one else was hurt.
