The most controversial leg of a cross-country oil pipeline could soon get the green light.
Nebraska's governor has approved a route for the Keystone XL that would bypass environmentally-sensitive areas of his state.
Governor Dave Heineman sent a letter to President Barack Obama Tuesday, saying that he would allow the pipeline to run through his state.
That could open the door for construction to begin on the pipeline's northern leg, from Canada to Cushing, Oklahoma.
Construction has already started on the Southern leg, from Cushing to the Texas Gulf Coast.
