A Tulsa woman and her elderly mother were charged Friday in an animal hoarding case.
Cherie Waggie, 55, and Billie Jane Waggie face four charges each. They were charged with one count of interfering with the impoundment of the dogs and cats, two counts of failure to secure pet registration, and one count of second degree burglary.
Investigators found 29 animals in rough shape last week at their home in the 1500 block of East 63rd Street North. There were 22 cats and seven dogs taken from the home.
Many of the animals were diseased or malnourished. All of the cats had to be put down at the Tulsa Animal Shelter.
The animals were found when Tulsa County Sheriff's deputies came to the house to lock the Waggies out in an eviction.
The count of second degree burglary was charged because the women went back to the house after they were locked out and kicked in the back door.
