Polls are open for a few more hours on Tuesday as Tulsans head to vote for the president, mayor and other races and questions on the ballot.

One of the most closely watched races is for Tulsa’s mayor. Voters will choose between Monroe Nichols and Karen Keith, who have each represented Oklahoma in different roles. \

Nichols, elected in 2016, currently serves in the Oklahoma House of Representatives, while Keith has served as a Tulsa County Commissioner since 2008.

The ballot also includes retention votes for three Oklahoma Supreme Court judges—James Edmondson, Noma Gurich, and Yvonne Kauger.

Although the judges are unopposed, voters will decide if they should remain in office. If any judge is removed, Gov. Kevin Stitt would appoint a replacement.

Additionally, Oklahomans will vote on two state questions. State Question 833 would allow property owners to create public infrastructure districts within towns and cities to finance improvements such as roads, sidewalks, and parks, taxing only those within the districts without impacting the broader tax base.

State Question 834 proposes a constitutional amendment to change one word. A “yes” vote would modify the constitution to read that “only” U.S. citizens may vote in Oklahoma elections, rather than “all” U.S. citizens.

Polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m., but anyone in line by closing time will still be able to cast a vote.
