Gas drive-offs are a big problem for convenience stores, but one quick-thinking storeowner helped to nab a pump pirate.

A woman stopped at the Great Scott Citgo in Coweta, filled up with Supreme gas, and then left without paying. Owner Randy Scott grabbed his cell phone, called police and followed the car out of town, down the Broken Arrow Expressway and on into downtown Tulsa. Police arrested the driver.

Scott says it made him mad that someone was stealing from him. "If I get to go to court, I'm going to ask the judge, for her penalty to come out and hold a sign that I stole gas from this location and got caught."

Pump piracy carries a fine of $100 and loss of a driverâ€™s license. A new law that raises the fine to $500 goes into effect in November.
