Faith Leaders Gather For Statewide Day Of Prayer

Governor Stitt is declaring Thursday a Statewide Day of Prayer for Oklahomans impacted by COVID-19.

There's a statewide prayer service Thursday night that can be watched on News 9.

The event will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will include a large number of faith leaders in Oklahoma like Pastor Craig Groeschel at Life.Church.

Transformation Church in Tulsa is hosting the service.

Governor Stitt declared Thursday as a statewide day of prayer because of how much COVID-19 has impacted everything around the state, Including businesses, families, and especially those that are sick or have underlying conditions.

The Statewide Day of Prayer will also lift up health workers and professionals constantly putting themselves at risk to slow the spread of the virus.

"I know this is an uncertain or anxious time for many Oklahomans right now. That is why I believe it is important we join together as a state and pray for God's blessing, protection and strength as we face a challenge that is unprecedented in its scope," said Governor Stitt.

Due to the possible spread of COVID-19, in-person attendance will not be allowed at the prayer service.
