Tinker AFB Raises Health Protection Measures Amid Coronavirus Concerns

Tinker Air Force Base has raised the health protection measures on the base due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) spread in Oklahoma.

Tinker Air Force Base has raised the health protection measures on the base due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) spread in Oklahoma.

Air Force officials released the following information: 

- Canceled Events:  All non-mission large gathering events greater than 50 attendees are canceled until 11 May in line with Center for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) guidance.  Specific cancelations include:  ALS Graduation Dinner (26 Mar), Tinker Spouses' Dining Out (29 Mar), Tinker Community Dining Out (2 Apr), Annual Kids Easter Egg Hunt (11 Apr), Kids Understanding Deployment Operations and Carnival (25 Apr), and all community tours. 

- Gate Procedures:  Defenders have already instituted new credential handling procedures to prevent direct contact with individuals.  We appreciate your understanding with potential delays during peak hours. 

- 72 MDG is screening all patients for symptoms of COVID-19 at the clinic entry point.  If suspected positive, patients will return to their car and drive into the in-car assessment area.   

The following facility and service changes will be effective beginning Wednesday, 18 March: 

CDC and Youth Center:  OPEN, but with no Drop Off Care or Open Recreation

Chapel Service:  Regular Services are Canceled until 11 May; staff is available for individual needs; Wednesday night meals for dormitory airmen are take-out only

Thrift Store:  Closed until 11 May

Bowling Center:  Closed for Bowling until 11 May; Grill is OPEN for take-out only

Fitness Centers:  Gerrity Fitness Center will remain OPEN for Active Duty, Reserves, Guard and Active Civilian Employees ONLY, and will Close on Wednesdays & Sundays for cleaning (1st Wed closure is 25 Mar)

**24-hour gyms (Bldg 216 & 3705) will be Closed until 11 May

Airmen & Family Readiness Center:  OPEN, but classes are canceled until 11 May

ITT/Outdoor Recreation/Arts & Crafts/Auto Hobby:  OPEN, but classes are canceled until 11 May

Golf Course:  OPEN, but no tournaments prior to 11 May

3001 Cafeteria:  OPEN, Oklahoma Room open for additional seating to provide social distancing

Flight Kitchen:  OPEN; take-out only

Library:  OPEN, but with patronage limited to 25 at a time 

ID Cards:  Appointment Only (Make an appointment at: https://rapids-appointments.dmdc.osd.mil) *accommodations can be made for short-notice deployments on request

AAFES:  OPEN, but with reduced food court & Burger King dine-in seating

Commissary:  OPEN normal hours
